Benshi (the "App") is published by Ibou AI ("we", "us"). We respect your privacy and minimize data collection. This policy describes what data the App processes, how it is used, and your choices.

Data Stored On Your Device Only

The following data never leaves your device:

• Photos and videos captured in the App
• Camera and microphone access (used only to capture photos/videos in the App; no recordings are transmitted)
• App preferences (selected film, developer, era settings, daily streak, etc.)
• In-app purchase status (managed by Apple StoreKit; we do not see your payment information)

Data Sent To Third Parties

Crash Reports (Sentry) — The App uses Sentry to receive automatic crash reports for stability improvements. Crash reports include:

• Stack traces
• App version and iOS version
• Device model

The following are NOT included:

• Your IP address (sendDefaultPii = false)
• User identifiers
• Personal information
• Photos, captured content, or App preferences

App Store Purchases (Apple) — In-app purchases are processed by Apple. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy

Data NOT Collected

• No analytics tracking, advertising IDs, or behavioral profiling
• No location data is transmitted (a Pro feature uses your device location locally for film recommendations, but the location never leaves the device)
• No social media integration data
• No contacts, calendar, or other personal data

Local Notifications

The App schedules local notifications (Daily Streak reminder) using iOS's notification system. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device.

Your Choices

• Stop crash reports: Delete the App
• Delete all data: Delete the App
• Revoke camera/microphone/notifications permission: iOS Settings → Benshi

Children

The App is rated 4+ and not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
